​​GAIL WALRAVEN is an award-winning photographer who has spent decades creating compelling images. She has photographed in all 50 states and more than 50 foreign countries.  In addition to camera work, she also teaches, writes, and participates in the local PhotoArts community.  She lives in La Jolla, California, with Bruce Griffiths, her husband of 38 years.

Gail is a perpetual student of photography.  She has studied both formally and informally for decades.  She has learned from the grand masters of photography as well as lauded contemporary artists.  She has explored art theories and art history, and how they apply to photographic arts.  She has identified talented photographers in her world and gone out of her way to learn from them.  Her focus is both the art and the science of photography.

She has taken tens of thousands of photos, and regularly subjects her work to critical review.  She has been rewarded by increasing acclaim for her work.  Her ultimate goal is to create images that are both technically sound and artistically intriguing.
